I am seriously considering applying for jobs in Texas and Colorado. I don't especially want to move to either of those places, but that's where the jobs seem to be. It's not really the idea of moving that bothers me - I've considered jobs in Florida, North Carolina, and Maryland after all. It's more like... I don't want to move to those specific states. They're so far away from anyone I actually know - like family or friends - so if shit hits the fan, I don't have a safety net established there. I know people do this sort of thing all the time, but it has to be pretty nerve-wracking.

I grew up military, so I do have a case of wanderlust. I've lived in one place for the last, oh, ten years or so, and I've been getting some seriously itchy feet. But, all of my moves have been to places where there was an established military community, and I was usually with family or near family. If I moved to Texas or Colorado, I wouldn't have either family or a familiar subculture to lean on. It would just be me and the cat against the world, really. Well, mostly me because the cat would probably just nap and expect me to sort everything out.

Anyway, I've been updating/reviewing my Excel knowledge. I don't use half of the functions they've added, like pivot tables, but they do seem to be pretty neat. I hope I'll be able to work them into my regular usage soon. If nothing else, I can use the knowledge in any job interviews I get in the meantime.

I don't know if anyone is actually interested, but I am still going to post about my progress on Persona 5 (and possibly any other game I might be playing). Why? Because it's my blog and I post about what I want to.

I am starting the second Palace and have acquired a new team-mate. I have also been introduced to the ongoing randomly-generated "grinding" dungeon called Mementos. I like the introduction of Mementos because it allows you to find Personas that you might have missed in other Palaces, and you can grind for experience. This is important because once the Palace's Treasure has been acquired, the Palace collapses and you can't access it again. Mementos allows you to do small missions in a dungeon similar to Tartarus in Persona 3, and you get to drive a little cat-bus and run over enemies with it. What's also nice about Mementos is that you don't have to worry about increased Alert levels, so if you fail an ambush on a lot of Shadows, you don't have to worry about being booted out of the dungeon or failing the mission.

I have also recently remembered that the PS3 has wireless controllers. The cable that comes with the controllers is kind of short, so I found myself standing rather close to the t.v. in order to play, which is fine for short play sessions, but you usually have to play at least an hour at a time before you can get to a decent stopping point.
