I was reading Mortal Coils before bed, and I think it made me have this weird nightmare where my own family was trying to kill me.

I've been trying to establish a routine. I have been staying up way too late, and I have been spending too much time on electronic devices before bed. So, I have decided to stop playing my video games, watching t.v., or being on any computer/screen device by 9:30 (or as soon as I can get to a save point), and spend half an hour to an hour reading a physical book (rather than an e-book) with the bedside lamp as the only light on in the room. It has helped me to unwind better at night so I can get to sleep by 10:30, but it is still hard to get my lazy self out of bed by 6:30. Also, I apparently should choose better bedtime reading than Mortal Coils. I mean, it's not like I don't have a million unread books from the used bookstore....

If nothing else, I hope that establishing this routine will help me pare down my backlog of books. And, if I ever get to the point where I can get up at 6:30 on a regular basis, I hope to be able to add an exercise regimen to the mix. Heck, maybe I'll even throw in a morning meditation session to really get the day going. We'll see.

Today, however, I am awake because I committed to helping the Cub Scouts with Clean The Bay Day. The nice thing about going out this early in the day is that I'm less likely to get sunburned.
